There are some weddings where you return home with a smile on your face and find yourself thinking for a long time afterwards about the people you’ve just met. That was certainly the case with Wiktoria and Piotrek. From the very first moments, there was a wonderful sense of ease and authenticity, and a group of friends who hadn’t just come to attend the wedding, but to truly celebrate the day together.
The preparations took place at Summer Studio Warsaw, where the bride and groom were joined by their closest family and friends. Right from the morning, there was a relaxed atmosphere full of laughter, conversation and emotion. These are exactly the sort of preparations we like best – when nothing feels forced and everything unfolds at its own natural pace.
The groomsmen, being the groomsmen they are, were already buzzing about the wedding car even before the ceremony. It turned out that their first choice let them down and wouldn’t start. Fortunately, a solution was quickly found, and moments later Piotrek was able to arrive in an iconic classic Porsche, which perfectly suited the spirit of the day.
On the other side, the preparations looked completely different. Wiktoria spent the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids and her closest friends and family. The girls chatted, laughed and helped one another, whilst the bride presented them with dressing gowns specially designed for the occasion.
These are precisely the moments that cannot be planned. For us, the most important thing at times like this is simply not to get in the way. To observe, listen and let the story unfold naturally.
Even before the ceremony, Wiktoria and Piotrek met for their first look. It’s always one of those moments that allows for a breather before the rest of the day’s events unfold, giving the couple a few minutes just to themselves.
The ceremony took place in one of Warsaw’s churches. Just before it began, we managed to make the most of a few quiet minutes for a short outdoor shoot in a nearby historic park and in the palace courtyard.
It wasn’t a traditional photo shoot. It was more of a stroll and a moment to catch our breath before the ceremony. Wiktoria and Piotrek were completely focused on each other. You could tell they loved spending time together, laughed a lot and were savouring every moment of the day with immense joy.
After the ceremony, everyone made their way to the Warsaw Polo Club, where the guests were already waiting for the bride and groom. Wiktoria and Piotrek arrived in a vintage Porsche, and the reception took place in the garden, in beautiful weather.
The room’s décor was delightfully simple. The minimalist decorations were complemented by a lace element that Wiktoria had specially ordered from abroad. The look was rounded off by distinctive white and blue vases and candles, which created a unique atmosphere after dark.
This is further proof that it is not the quantity of decorations that creates the atmosphere, but a cohesive concept and attention to detail.
One of the highlights of the day was the speeches given during the dinner. It was then that the guests heard the story of how Wiktoria and Piotrek met, memories from the early days of their relationship, and many warm and personal wishes.
In our films, speeches are much more than just a segment of the documentary. Very often, they form the narrative thread of the entire film, allowing the story of the bride and groom to be told in their own words and through the eyes of their loved ones.
That is why, in the 15-minute film we created for Wiktoria and Piotrek, it is these speeches that guide the viewer through the story of their special day.
By evening, the dance floor had filled up very quickly with dancing guests, but for us, the most interesting moments often happen a few metres away.
I love observing the goings-on amongst the tables. Conversations, spontaneous toasts, laughter, hugs and reunions between people who often haven’t seen each other for a long time. It is precisely there that many of the shots are captured, which later set the rhythm of the film and allow you to relive the atmosphere of that day years later.
I also really liked the fact that Wiktoria and Piotrek made time for the older members of their family. They raised a toast with them and simply spent a few moments together. It’s a small gesture, but it’s moments like these that often mean the most.
To round off the evening, there was one more moment that perfectly captured the character of this couple. During the ‘oczeniny’ ceremony, Piotrek, instead of throwing the traditional ‘mucha’… threw a Frisbee.
The result? Hysterical laughter, a proper chase and one of those moments you simply can’t plan for.
And I think that’s exactly why I remember this wedding most of all. For the couple who did everything their own way. No pressure, no pretence and no attempt to fit into a pre-determined script.
The result was not only a one-minute teaser, which you can see on our Instagram, but also a fifteen-minute wedding film, telling the story of Wiktoria and Piotrek exactly as it was – full of energy, closeness and the people who made this special day happen.
